Now accepting applications for family rental home on Isle au Haut
The Isle au Haut Community Development Corporation (ICDC) is accepting applications to rent one of its houses on Isle au Haut. The ICDC was formed in 1990 to provide affordable housing and opportunities to attract new families to the island. The program offers rentals for up to five years while new residents establish themselves and move toward independent housing.
ICDC’s Moore’s Harbor home is a small Saltbox with an open kitchen and living room design, a mud room, and a small bedroom that could be used for an office on the first floor. There are two bedrooms and a bath on the second floor. The home is within an easy walk to the town center including the town landing, the post office and the island store. This home is one of the first constructed by ICDC in the early 1990s and underwent a complete rehab in 2017.
Rent is $775/month plus utilities.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning on June 10, until a suitable applicant is found. The committee hopes to have a decision made by July 1. Applications are reviewed by a committee of island residents. Click here to download a description of the resident selection process, housing program eligibility requirements, and selection criteria.
